At its core, On the Ground is an opportunity to study. To study and to share the knowledge and best practices of NGOs facing daunting tasks and formidable challenges in diverse settings around the world.
On the Ground was created as a platform through which we will profile and share information on NGOs in countries around the world. Through interviews and site visits in countries from Vietnam to Nepal, Jordan, and the Netherlands, we will delve into the inner workings of NGOs. We will explore a wide variety of NGOs and their varying methodologies of fundraising, volunteer outreach, organization, governmental cooperation (or lack thereof), implementation, and more. We will examine stated organization objectives and their efficacy in attaining said objectives. We will investigate the common challenges faced by NGOs in diverse governmental and cultural contexts as well as the techniques used to overcome them. Through this, we hope to expand and share our understanding of international NGOs with our readers.
If you have any suggestions of NGOs for us to get in touch with, please do not hesitate to let us know. If you would like to support us in our research, we appreciate advice, inspiration, and, of course, funding, all of which can be done by contacting us.
